We’re excited to have two speakers on this day. More to come about our second speaker, but our main speaker will le the lovely Dr. Portia Lockett to inspire us.

Meet Dr. Portia Lockett

Dr. Portia has been empowering professionals through motivational speaking for over two decades, earning attention and praise from dozens of prominent companies such as human service agencies and educational institutions.

Everyone has a purpose but not everyone knows their purpose early in life.

At the age of seven, Dr. Portia Lockett was clear on her calling: teaching and encouraging others, which later evolved into her being a school teacher that inspired students to be their best regardless of their path.

Eventually, she transitioned into speaking and training for major corporations and nonprofits which included but not limited to UAW GM, Chrysler, Goodwill Industries, OMEGA academy, Detroit Area of Aging, and The Detroit Medical Center. Later becoming a licensed and ordained Chaplain that allowed her to support and encourage individuals from the womb to the tomb.

Eventually being led her into the world of being a missionary that allowed her to travel and support the underserved in Japan, Barbados, Mexico, Bahamas, Canada, Kenya, and Jamaica. In addition, National Geographic selected Dr. Portia and her family to be a part of the TV series World’s Apart where they lived and authentic lifestyle with a Peruvian family in the Andes.
