  1. Where are you from? ~ Southfield, Michigan
  2. Tell us your latest news? ~ I was a guess on “Talk With The Author” with Dr. Mamie Smith – I also recently published the Companion Workbook to my book.
  3. When and why did you begin writing? ~ I began writing when my husband passed away in 2009. He died of the same thing that God gave me to write about years prior to his death.
  4. When did you first consider yourself a writer? ~ When I began to write my book.
    5. What inspired you to write your first book? ~ The death of husband
    6. Do you have a specific writing style? ~ a combination of narrative and expository
    7. How did you come up with the title? ~I asked God to give me the title as outlined in one of my chapter in the book.
  5. Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? ~ yes Who you are and everything you do flows from the condition of your heart. I provide prescriptions for the physical, emotional, and spiritual blockage that hinders the Source of life which flows from the heartbeat of God. I use the physical heart and its functionalities to teach transforming lessons about life and the heartbeat of God. I share my own life and ministry experiences to illustrate how the physical and emotional heart correlates to deep spiritual truths about life, relationships, and God’s undying love.
  6. How much of the book is realistic? ~It is realistic and relevant because it meets the needs of the heart.
    10. Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life? ~both.
    11.  What books have most influenced your life most? ~The Bible, books on counseling, biographical literature and self-help books
    12.   If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor? ~ Dr. Robert Kellemen, and Dr. Ornish M.D, and Jay Adams.
    11. What book are you reading now? ~Soul Physicians – by Dr. Robert Kellemen
    12.  Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? ~
    What are your current projects? ~Co-authoring my 7th book, blogging, and maximizing social media and other forums.
    13. Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members. ~The Professional Woman Network.
    13. Do you see writing as a career? ~Now that I am retired – it is something I have considered.
    14. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book? ~Not so much about regarding the content of book itself – I would have done more research in the beginning as to who I should align myself with in regards to branding, global marketing etc.
    15.  Do you recall how your interest in writing originated? ~Yes.  It was many years ago and after my husband passed away with the same condition re: main concept of the book – it was time to write.
    16.  Can you share a little of your current work with us? ~My main work has been with Motown Writers Network – attending meeting and working with Sylvia Hubbard.
    17.   Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? ~My overall goal is inner healing, transformation, and destiny – to be all that the Creator has designed us to be.
  7. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work? ~Jay Adams – His writings on counseling and dealing with the root cause of life’s issues.
    19. Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)? ~I have traveled to Texas, Kentucky and Ohio
    20.  Who designed the covers? ~LaTanya Orr for my book and workbook and PWN for the co-author writings
    21.  What was the hardest part of writing your book? ~Sharing aspects of my personal life in regards to past issues, pain and adversity.
  8. Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it? ~ I learned so much about myself, publishing and marketing.
    22. Do you have any advice for other writers? ~Do extensive research – do your homework – focus more on branding and marketing prior to publishing your book
    23. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers? ~Allow the book to confront issues and apply the necessary lessons I learned to assist them in shaping and growing in their journey
