#MotownWriters Tuesday Tip for Authorpreneurs: Build Trust With Positive Reviews

Ask for Reviews/Recommendations

Most people, even when they’re extremely happy with your product or service, won’t offer to leave a review.

People are busy. We have a lot on our minds.

So ask. Get comfortable with asking.  And ask often.

Then make posting a response easy and email a link to your preferred review site.

💡 Bonus Tip: Ask even if there was no formal business exchange.
✔Did you do some pro-bono work?
✔Did you write a guest blog or do a guest appearance?
✔Let someone “pick your brain”?

These are all great reasons you’d ask for a review!

When’s the last time you asked for a review?

Find more ways to market your book, get reviews and become an Authorpreneur

National #ReadABookDay is observed annually on September 6th. #motownwriters

NATIONAL READ A BOOK DAY

National Read A Book Day is observed annually on September 6th.  On August 9th, we all celebrated National Book Lovers Day.  While these bookish days may seem similar, National Read a Book Day invites us ALL to grab a book we might enjoy and spend the day reading.

Don’t keep it to yourself.  Share the experience!  Read aloud either to children or to grandparents.  Read to your pets or to your stuffed animals and plants.

Reading improves memory and concentration as well as reduces stress. Older adults who spend time reading show a slower cognitive decline and tend to participate in more mentally stimulating activities over their lifetime.  Books are an inexpensive entertainment, educational tool and time machine too!

Books are important. We could go on and on about how important reading is important.

But we thought we’d show in other ways how important this is. Instead, we decided to show a video since you like that.

So pick up a book this month. Get your friends to pick up a book and get your family to pick up a book

Can’t Decide?

Just read a book and then come back and let us know what you read. Do a review and send the author a note of thanks for making good (or bad) reading possible.

NATIONAL WRITE YOUR STORY DAY #motownwriters

National Write Your Story Day - March 14

NATIONAL WRITE YOUR STORY DAY

Everyone has a story. On March 14, National Write Your Story Day challenges you to tell your story in written form.

You may think to yourself, “There’s nothing in my life to tell.” It will surprise you once you put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard and the words start filling the pages. Words have a way of triggering memories. They form a moment in time, and before you know it, there’s a story flowing from your fingertips. Even if you never share your tale, it can be an essence of who you are and where you’ve been.

Trips down memory lane or recreating the moment when a spark of inspiration occurred, are more intriguing than you know. Today, they fill blogs, inspire novels and entire television series. More importantly, they are treasures to family and loved ones.

National Write Your Story Day encourages us to start telling our personal story today. There’s a story worth recounting in there somewhere!

HOW TO OBSERVE

Commit to writing your story. Grab pen and paper or your favorite electronic device and begin typing away. We all have a story to tell. Use #WriteYourStoryDay to share on social media.

HISTORY

Mitzy founded National Write Your Story Day in September of 2017. The Registrar at National Day Calendar proclaimed it will be observed annually beginning March 14, 2018.

Mitzy is an Author, Artist, Guide and founder of Mitzy TV, which pushes to inspire authors and artist to become better individuals. This business also works to provide direction and encouragement to others so that they can push their work out into the world where it can best serve others.
